Here is the 1st Jaay Bear using the low pile faux fur. This is the Camel color. A little tweaking left here and there but over all I am super pleased with how Jaay Bear turned out. Imagine a Christmas color toque and scarf, and that is how you can order your Jaay Bear . There will be a limited number available in the four colors.
I will be making pajamas once I have these completed, My nurse gave me a blast yesterday when she saw how swollen my feet were. She ordered me to stretch out with my foot elevated if I wanted to it to heal in a reasonable amount of time. Sooo, like it or not I am listening to her, with my daughter making sure I do lol.
I'll keep you up to date. I can't use my sewing machine right now. It helps if you can feel your foot when it's on the pedal lol.
Hope you like Jaay! If you have any suggestions, or spot something amiss, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Diva Dodo and friends
Introducing.... Diva Dodo
I changed up my original Dodo bird a little .
The tail now resembles real feathers.
I cut out feather shapes and stiffed them up by adding a felt backing.
Add in a few pink feathers to diva-fy it, and here she is!
You will notice the feet are a little bigger. This is so it stands a little better.
If interested leave your contact info in a comment here, or send me a private message, either by email LegzToyz@gmail.com OR message me on Facebook

The Dodo's have landed!!

Here are my Dodo Birds. Wow, was it ever a case of trial and error. Unfortunately the pattern I purchased left much to be desired and ended up redesigning a few of the pieces.
What do you think?
Is this something you'd consider buying? Given the time and materials that went into these,
I am asking $25 and am willing to make you a personalized one in the colors you want.

Orange Brother Bears
I used a very soft polar fleece for both of these bears. I ordered the fabric online at Fabricville and received the order two days later. Pretty darn good if you ask me. All of the fabric is beautiful.
TOP bear is orange with a flame pattern of Blue. Oramge and a touch of red.
BOTTOM bear isorange with a motorcycle pattern. I was able to get the full motorcycle across the back. The scarf is flannelette, skulls wearing sunglasses.

Teddy Bear w Green Eyes
Here is a bear I just finished for someone. I love the way the green bow-tie brings out the green eyes. Still have to add the boys' name, but thought I'd share it with you all without it.
Hope they like it!
I'm going to try and finish two more tonight I made for a customer.
The next one after those two will be looking for a forever home.

Teddy Bears and the Law
So, I'm having so much fun making Stuffies for you all. The extra $$ really comes in handy. No, I'm not making mega bucks, but when it nears month's end and the fridge is looking sparse, it does come in handy.
Imagine my surprise when I happened upon an article about the rules when it comes to making a profit off patterns for stuffies.
Did you know that sometimes when you download a 'free' pattern for a teddy bear, you are not allowed to sell what you make?I took a look at the site where I got one of my patterns for free and found a section where you are supposed to purchase a license to sell your finished product. It starts at $20 for 10 teddies and goes up accordingly. Anyone who has had to purchase the supplies and fabric needed to make a Stuffie, knows if you were to sell it, you'd be lucky to make $10. Which breaks down to approx $1 an hour for my time/ services. Now, if you factor in having to purchase a license, you are in actuality making approx. $8 or less profit for a 24 or more hours of work.
If I were to reproduce the pattern and sell it, then I can see where there might be a problem. As a past pattern designer (sports wear) I know it takes a certain amount of knowledge and creativity to produce a pattern from scratch.
What does all this mean? It means (for me) I will keep doing what I'm doing. When someone asks what pattern I used I will continue to send them to the site I found the pattern. If the cops come to the door and threaten to put me, a Gramma, in leg irons for selling a teddy bear to my neighbor, so be it.
I guess I'll be the next big news trending the internet ;)

The Bears and DoDo's have landed!
This is how I chose the materials for my first DandY DoDo Birds.
As you can see, pretty much anything goes!
I chose a body material that has lots of colors
to pull from for the other parts.
The one above and below will be up for sale.
I can't wait to see how they come together.
The pattern should arrive any day now.
I am going to use a very soft flannelette fabric
and adding a fusible interfacing to give it structure,
****
These are the color matches for the bears.
I am using an Anti-Pill Fleece fabric for these to amp
the cuddle factor.

I can't wait to get started!!
