Princess Nightie Design

^^This is not the nightie^^

I am working away at my Christmas sewing list, when I came across a contest on Fabricville where I can enter something I've sewn for a chance to win some really kewl prizes. It has to be a garment of some kind, several categories to choose from.
I recently played around to create a pattern for a girls nightgown. I made the mock out of fabric scraps etc
(I will get my daughter to take a pic of the mock design when she gets home from work. Keep in mind it is a mish-mash of fabrics.) I debated whether to post this or not because it really doesn't do my vision any justice. However, it does give you a glimpse into the creative process of pattern design.

I am waiting for a couple of measurements and the tulle/organza to come in before I can start sewing the finished product.
Every little girl loves to dress up to be a princess. Keeping that in mind, I am making the nightgown out of a fun ladybug flannel. One step further, a long over-vest type cover out of a pretty, Pink mesh with pink matte dot -spangle knit. The floor-length vest can be removed when it's bed time or used on it's own with anything else at play time.

I'd love to make one for your little girl. It will be one of a kind, that's for sure! At least for now.  This is the fabric I have to make it with. Froggy Flannelette and  Aqua/Silver Star Flake Organza Foil
The pattern is for a little girl size 5. I can adjust this for you up or down a little.  If interested please message me on facebook about a price. I will have it ready in lots of time for Christmas. I hope to have a tiara to go with it as well!
